Girls can be members of the Senior Section, between the ages of 14 and 26 years either as a Ranger or as a Young Leader with any of the above groups.  Various opportunities are open to girls in this section, including The Look Wider Programme, which is based around 8 programme areas or “Octants” – Creativity, Fit for Life, Independent Living, International, Leadership, Out of doors, Personal Values and Community Action.  Senior Section members can participate in various activities and challenges, they can earn a variety of badges and certificates, including the Chief Guide Challenge, which 2 girls at Horwich Parish Church have achieved so far, and The Queens Guide Award, this is the highest award which girls can achieve in Girlguiding.  Members can start to work towards their Young Leadership Qualification at the age of 14 years, and their Adult Leadership Qualification at the age of 16 years.
